If somebody dies, even within 'legal' time constraints of an election, you are viewing it as somehow unfair
This is not what I was referring to. Obviously, the current situation with Wellstone's death is going to create a difficult situation. But what is unfair is that the Democrats, in an effort to insure the seat isn't lost, is going insert someone who has been out of politics for 20 years solely on the basis of name recognition. Someone who frankly doesn't even want to be involved.
I did not intend to imply it was as dirty as the NJ deal. NJ was one of the worst displays of political dirty tricks I've seen in a while. Actually, since the 2000 campaign when Gore tried to steal the election.
It's wrong but the courts upheld the ruling and we all kno that the courts have the final say in elections.
Well, the US Supreme Court should have straightened it out, but they avoided it solely for its political implications, I believe.
Nontheless, it is but one more slimey example of the Democrats at work. The things that they're famous for.
Consider the following from recent elections:
- The Torricelli Incident
- The Racist Add against Geo Bush in '00
- The Attempted Theft by Gore of the Presidential Election in '00
- The release, days before the '00 election, of misleading information concerning Bush's DWI incident
- The release, days before the '92 election, of the "October Surprise" from Lawrence Walsh. One of the more sickening examples of Democrat dirty tricks.
Well, you get the idea. You can no doubt cite a couple of Republican examples. But it is patently untrue to suggest that the numbers are the same on both sides. |
