r1- sorry. i don't treat the messageboards like a phone conversation or a chat room. i treat them more like email or voicemail. it's less demanding if you can read and answer as time allows. i don't like using the phone or instant messengers or chat rooms. it's a guy thang, i think. my answering machine screens my calls and takes messages. sometimes i forget to reply to email or messages. not intentionally, but if i don't answer right when i read or listen to them they tend to get overpowered by newer messages and i forget about the older ones. i have many other annoying faults too but i'd rather not point them out in public unless i have to. <s> i've never tried the hang-up routine on the phone. thanks for the suggestion. are you sure it isn't rude? -lep86
