I used to have a saying "I never met a Libertarian who I liked". Talking to a few Libertarians, it seemed to be a common theme. I have since met a few libertarians that I can tolerate, but it isn't surprising to me at all that the party can't get their act together to win an election. One of the things that I have found is that they are far to idealistic. They want all of the changes to happen right now and don't want to compromise. Quite simply, they are not politically pragmatic enough to succeed.
