That APA article is very interesting. I do not think we have a huge self esteem program in the schools around here. We are heavily into standards, and because we are, if a kid is not meeting the standard, he or she is not meeting the standard. There is no way to soft pedal it. The same is true of our high school exit exams. If kids don't pass those, there isn't any self esteem workshop for them, they just have to keep taking the test until they pass.
