Is this an analogy or a metaphor for Iraq....

The question:

--Terrorists capture 750-100 hostages. Threaten to kill them by blowing up the entire building with all the hostages and themselves in it. One known hostage killed by bullets...at least two more reported.
Timetable of 12 hours given to meet their demands.

Alternatives:

--Try to use gas to disable the terrorists, knowing it will disable many of the hostages as well. Because of no water, nor food, nor medicine for those who need it for over 56 hours, some will die.

--Storm the building, hoping to disable the terrorists before they set off the bombs. If this doesn't work, this method will kill all the Special Forces, the hostages, as well as the terrorists.

--Do nothing. And hope like heck that the terrorists were just "kidding". If they weren't "kidding"....BOOM. Everyone dies.
