I would truly prefer that all of this crap was resolved before he is 18.

I doubt that it will... it will only get worse.

1. Unless we curb the population explosion, particularly in the third world... fat chance for improvement.

2. increasingly, more and more people view the government as if they "owed" them, as in expecting that the government takes care of their more pressing needs. Not to mention that the very same governments are at or near bankruptcy.

3. likewise, larger number of people now believe that corporations/business at large, are evil. (witness the WTO rioters)

4. bankers, in their continued pursuit to win the Noble Prize in chemistry (i.e. turning money into cr*p), they continue to destroy whatever good equity they had into un-collectable loans from basket-case nations..

Sorry Jorj... better teach sound finance and economics to your son, [along with some Tae Kwon Do], it will be the only way to survive in the "brave new world".

five subjects to learn in a "balanced curriculum" ought to be:

1. absurd speech: learn to speak bullsh*t in jibberish without the audience knowing it.

2. sleek savings: how to stash away money and assets without governments learning about them.

3. the art of mumbo jumbo: how to not tell the truth, without telling lies, and never ever get caught for either. -g (different from subject # 1)

4. black hole finance: how to stay in the black without a job and living the life of grand karma.

5. hypnotism: how to use one's hidden powers to get others to do what one wants, at all times and be praised about it at the same time.
