I think this case in Buffalo NY will be an important test because they did not actually carry out any acts of violence, but are basically accused of being a al quada sleeper cell.

If the case doesn't go anywhere prosecutors may not be eager to pursue such cases in the future. Tnen we'll be left trying to prevent violent attacks in the nick of time just before they occur. But hopefully the case has legs.
