Toshiba will not select ZiVA because ZORAN's products are superior. Zoran's DVD decoder is based on a media processor similar to that of Chromatic Research. MSPs are superior to CUBE's hardware coded decoders because they are software upgradable. You can upgrade your MPEG-1 MSP to MPEG-2 easily, thru some software re-programming. Similarly, it will be fairly easy for ESST to enter the MPEG-2 market based on their MPEG-1 programmable chips.
