I spoke with Charles Messman today at Morgan Walke, which is IMP's communications firm. Charles has been the rep on IMP at MW since I've been following IMP in late 1995. He said that the feeling from the NEW top management at IMP is that the bottom was seen in the first quarter of this calendar year and that they expect revenues to grow going forward. The new CEO, Phil Ferguson, is a turnaround specialist with an impressive record of experience in the semiconductor industry having worked at Texas Instruments, Fairchild, QuickLogic and Paradigm Technologies. The Chairman of the Board David Laws is going to focus on rebuilding confidence in IMP with the investment community after last years serious downdraft in business. Charles said the Linfinity deal announced last night is more significant than people realize. I have a call in to the new CFO George Rassam with a list of questions regarding financials, backlog, etc., and I will report my discussion with him when it occurs. That's all for now. IMP seems to be going in the right direction and as semiconductor companies with foundries get revalued upward as foundry demand increases, IMP seems to be one of the last plays on this theme that hasn't already advanced significantly from it's 52 week low.
