(OT) NPR let the cat out of the dirty bag. The Russians refused to disclose the gas they lobbed into the theatre that killed 100, 150, 200, [pick one] innocents. I suspect they didn't enjoy the movie.

The Russians, the Russian Government, refused to come clean, saying it was a "STATE SECRET." Sure.

American doctors on the scene, identified the stuff as opiates, neatly turned into a gas. This stuff tends to kill people. And it did, very efficiently.

Put 'em all to sleep? Not a bad idea. But gas that kills is a horrendous idea. How 'bout 'ludes in gaseous form?
It can be done. And the side effects are nice.

I recall the days when gas meant something very different. We all had "gas." And we dealt with it in various manner.

Now "gas" is used to kill.

I have two daughters and five grandchildren. I fear for them.

Gas. Indeed.
