isn't diesel already a bio product? (fossil remains?)

Yes but we are beginning to run low on dinosaurs and those other odd looking fossil things.
<g>

Besides, it seems better to keep the farmers of the wirld busy growing beans. It's easier to keep up with demand.

seems like the worst thing about these fuels
is not their origin but the "burning" process.

Point taken. Even though the bio blend burns much cleaner.

I agree but for now all of these other alternative fuels and discoveries are miles away from producing revenues or in many cases, miles away from offering stock certificates. <g> <ng>

Anyhow, Biodiesel doesn't appear to be the best answer, but at least it's a sign that we might finally be progressing.

A few bits about BioDiesel that I learned yesterday:

Right now it's rather expensive to produce.
The idea for now is to use it to "water" down petroleum based diesel.
For example, what will be selling now is a blend of 20% Bio Diesel and 80% petroleum based diesel.

So realistically we won't be putting OPEC out of business.

However our roadways may begin to smell nicer. Many people will begin craving french fries or Kentucky Fried Chicken.

So with your purchase of stock in this Bio Diesel sector you might want to get a few shares of MCD (home of the Whopper) and YUM (who owns KFC and BK). <g>

Besides these companies might eventually be in the fuel business if they can find a way to sell off their used cooking oil for fuel. <g><ng>
