Hi Jay,

I have questions on China metals, I ask him and his two partners.

It is quite likely your nephew has some ideas about this- I know you mentioned him before. Traders often are focused on the near term, but likely reflect on the bigger picture now and then. And have better info sources.

Scrap Stainless is a big source of nickel- but I've assumed it was melted and recast as new stainless. That may be incorrect.

I'm trying to ascertain which metals China can produce in abundance at prices at or below current market. Thinking 1-5 years out. Same for Russia.

I made the assertion some time ago that metals would be subject to gradual price deflation as Russia and China modernized. Now I'm trying to see if there are any facts or themes that might further support this 'theory'.

I'm just looking at large macro trends, since the US has seen it's earnings bounce, and I need something other than the television to occupy the few brain cells I have left. <g>

Edit:

BTW, the local colleges seem to offer Russian, but not Mandarin or Thai. Hmm. Sometimes I think they are a decade behind the times. I guess I should be thankful the are offering Russian. I guess I'm still miffed I couldn't get a Unix course in the early 90's unless I traveled 60 miles to another town. Maybe with Broadband, we can aggregate those who want to learn all three langauges via live vidoe classes. At 1/10th the cost, ideally.
