the UN rarely interferes with internal matters of a country. IMO they are for the most part a useless toothless organization that because of the make up of it's members is leaning so far in one direction that they could at any time now just topple over.

Its not going to topple over in your life time. And if Las Vegas is taking bets, i am prepared to put my money where my mouth is. Are you?

Death and destruction is not ok at any time or by anyone but it is sometimes required to protect ones self or to maintain peace...peace is never free.

If someone were attacking you, it would be an easy decision to defend and call it defending. But who gets to decide in the case of activities going on in some far away land? Maybe if the US had not financed, armed and trained the Al Queda mercenaries (these were not Afghanistn citizens), Sept 11 would never have happened. And sooner or later Afghanistan would have kicked Russia out just as other Soviet Bloc countries and just as India other countries eventually kicked the British out.

First of all Islam is a religion and not a country. Here I will agree with you that Islam is a very fundamentalist type of religion where they clearly state that either you are a muslim brother or you are an enemy to be conquered and killed. Its the same as Christianity of the old days that started the crusades.
