Such a news release i feel must transcend making or missing earnings.But things such as losing a major contract or the CEO just took off to Brazil and we don't know where he is, an the company safe is empty. The key thing is the street also does not get any earnings input between quarters. That is make a quaterly report a quarterly report(that's what they supposed to be,anyway:), because now they can play so many games on a daily basis with FD it is manipulative. Warnings, like "we now see ourselves coming in at minus 20 cents instead of minus 7cents. And come earnings they come in at minus 15cents. "XXX COMPANY BEATS ESTIMATES!". It is just a circus, and make the actual Quaterly report a joke,imo.
