G,

I'm trying to find the cheapest (and fastest) solution for getting digital photos from my hard disk to Costco where I can have reasonably good quality 4x6 prints on archival paper for 20 cents each. I have a Sony Viao laptop with both firewire, USB 1.0 port, and PCMCIA type II slot all available. I'm not ready to shell out hundreds of dollars for a good external CD burner at this time, but Costco accepts flash memory cards, of which I own both a 64 meg and 128 meg. So, is it better to give Amazon $8 for the PCMCIA CF adaptor or $16 for the USB CF reader (and writer)? The available PCMCIA slot is only a fraction of an inch below the other PCMCIA type II slot which is currently being used by my D-Link wireless modem. Will this be a problem hotswapping the CF card, which is easily done with the USB card reader?
