Edward,

I agree that Kodak will not roll over and die. I expect and hope that, like IBM, it rises a stronger company. But I think it will take red ink to sound the wakeup call.

As a long term investment, aren't there better plays than a stock that won't bottom for at least six months? Why let the money languish when there are so many more attractive investment opportunities? Dynamic companies with low PEs.

Changing ad agencies is purely cosmetic. Thompson or Ogilvy ultimately give clients what they want. Both are capable and talented in a wide range of styles. Heads had to roll and better someone outside Rochester is hurt than any real change be made. Dennis Rodman I think is an aberation (the ad, not necessary the man ... OK, maybe both) let loose by Kodak managers temporarily shaken and scared. The ad is a breath of fresh air.

Konica. Jeez, has Kodak been reduced to prostituting its brandname, or did they prove themselves such marketing wizzes with their own copiers that Konica jumped at the chance to take advantage of this expertize? I suspect that Kodak didn't have the heart to disband the copier sales division, and offered Konica a sweetheart marketing deal. Looks like a breakeven proposition for Kodak at best. Konica stock soared on the news.

This week is interesting. I expect it to bounce off 70 tomorrow. If EK starts inching into the 70s, I'll be worried. I've been right about fundamentals and lost option money before. Sell high, buy low.
