Y'know something Scott.. You're quite a piece of work...

And to think people have actually defended the fact that you only tend to post other people's tripe, rather than post your own opinions out here..

Well, think about it... Why would any Republican candidate want to "off" Wellstone when it's apparent that Walter Mondale, a known political quantity would step in to take his place and quite likely carry the election on a sympathy vote??

After all, didn't we just see something similar with Frank Lautenburg taking place when Toricelli dropped out in New Jersey?? Now he's considered a shew in...

If anyone had an interest in "offing" Wellstone, it was the democratic party officials who might have been concerned about his vulnerability against Coleman given that the race was extremely tight.

Wellstone had also be diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (though thought to be mild).. Also, he violated his promise to only be a two-term Senator and Coleman was able to use this effectively against him..

Also, bear in mind that Coleman was formerly a democrat who only switched over to the Republican party in 1996.

Your interest in domestic senatorial conspiracy theories seems not only off topic on this thread, but rather far fetched.

But thanks for playing....
