I'm fairly clueless on dollar trends. Some recent news.

From what I understand there is a huge amount of momentum behind a dollar trend as businesses exchange currency to meet anticipated cash requirements abroad (or the other way if the dollar is appreciating). Therefore, if it's expected that the dollar will go down, they would sell some dollars up front into the required currency to hedge against this shortfall. So the trend can be self sustaining.

I'd say it required considerable effort to stop the USD collapsing, and it's stationary value on the graph is about it's best chance. Otherwise lower.
