I am not sure I follow your logic, if any.
>>I don't care that much what some french tv show thinks.
TV shows don't think... This show in question is an indicator of Europeans' thoughts & perceptions.
>>Heck, europe gave us South African Apartheid, >>Pan Am flight 103 bombed over Lockerbie Scotland, >>Napolean, King George III, Henry VIII, Hitler, >>Moussalini, the Red Brigade, the IRA, the Protestant >>Orangemen, the brutal, imperialistic regimes of England, >>France, Denmark and Holland, dozens of corrupt popes, and >>other horrors and political nightmares. >> >>And we're supposed to listen to their 'wise' counsel? LOL !
I am not a defender, nor even a national, of France. Nonetheless, I can't help but see that if we were to follow your logic, than the French should no doubt have a problem following the "wise" counsel of America, who "gave us" Hiroshima & Nagasaki, slavery, near-extermination of the native American-Indian population, etc :)
The truth is that every country has a past full of mistakes and it should not matter in judging the views of people of other nations, who were not even alive when those mistakes were being committed.
By the way, attacking the person(s) rather than the argument is a logical fallacy called ad hominem, if you are interested to know.
You are entitled to your opinions, and so is a European. Let's leave it at that. I saw a post that said onlookers probably thought W. was stupid or a liar, and I replied, saying that he is right. That's all.
Loved your song "Take Me" back when I was a teenager, by the way :) |
