SGI Hires Larry McArthur
To Lead Manufacturing Industry Initiative Industry Veteran Brings More Than 30 Years Experience to SGI
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Oct. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SGI (NYSE: SGI) today announced the appointment of Larry McArthur as senior director of manufacturing industries marketing for the company. McArthur will be responsible for global marketing and business development initiatives significant to SGI's leadership position in manufacturing sectors such as automotive, aerospace, consumer goods, industrial machinery and shipbuilding. In addition to his manufacturing focus, McArthur joins the company's industry marketing management team, which drives product and process requirements for a market-focused technology strategy that provides long-term value to customers who have invested in SGI(R) technology. SGI is also a leading solutions provider in the energy, sciences, government and defense, and media industries.

McArthur's career includes broad executive-level experience at several global companies, most recently as CEO of GetSilicon, an Internet-based provider of collaborative supply chain management solutions for the semiconductor industry. He has managed a number of successful startups, directing profitable international market growth strategies at companies such as The MacNeal Schwendler Company, Aries Technology Corporation and Ascent Logic Corporation.
As president and COO of The MacNeal Schwendler Company, McArthur was instrumental in establishing its world-leading position in engineering analysis software by bringing a marketing and distribution culture to a technology-dominated environment and refocusing on customer satisfaction and new growth markets. He also brings to SGI solid experience in marketing and sales to Fortune 1000 and global corporations including Ford, GE, Raytheon, British Aerospace and ABB, many who employ SGI technology.
McArthur is a cofounder of the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS), where he has served on the board of directors for 16 years. He holds a B.S. from Western Michigan University School of Pulp & Paper Science and Technology. |
