They gave Egypt all their territory back in exchange for a peace treaty. I don't believe they hold any Lebanese soil.

so in other words you admit containment has worked.


Uh, my next two sentences were:

"The international will to contain Iraq is evaporating. Security Council members (France, Russia, and China) are violating the sanctions themselves. They've been bought off by sweet deals. "

israel and iran are quite capable of containing iraq

Saddam is likely to be uncontainable once he has nukes. What is likely is a nuclear war in the Persian Gulf. And the security of the Persian Gulf is important to the world and to us (which was the reason for the Gulf War) because such a high percentage of the world's oil originates there.
