What would that have been? << gosh you are naive. of course there was an ulterior motive. israel had nuclear weapons and wanted to maintain their nuclear monopoly in the region. iraq was a signatory to the non-proliferation treaty and the reactor had recently been subjected to and passed a UN-sanctioned IAEA inspection. now let's take a look at hypocritical israel. israel has had nukes for quite a while and has far more weapons of mass destruction than iraq will ever have. israel has threatened its neighbors, attacked the united states unprovoked, and flagrantly ignored more than twice as many UN resolutions than iraq. israel has not signed the non-proliferation treaty and played by the international rules. israel won't subject themselves to UN-sanctioned IAEA inspections like iraq did. that is how it goes with jews. one standard for themselves, a different standard for everyone else. iraq played by the international rules, and they get bombed. israel refuses to play by the rules, and gets $100 billion in foreign aid from america. now sharon says he wants $10 billion more. those illegal settlements cost a lot of money to build you know.
