OK, Polvie, I wasn't gonna out mice elf, but that was about my second thought after I heard the news. (My first was "effing eh, Shrub owns the senate"). Didn't hear that thought again until I bumped into a friend the next morning, who started out her conversation with "Well, they killed another one". Too many dirty tricks by the spy guys.
She also said a friend told her that a country that voluntarily elects the head of the secret police as the president deserves whatever it gets. IMO, it applies to the son of the secret police,too.
Yeah, I've gotten cynical.

PS The first time I thought about something like this was during Nam. A plane with Sen. Hale Boggs (father of Cokie Roberts) and Walter Reuther, pres of the UAW, went down in Alaska. Both were staunch foes of Nixon, and I think the UAW had just come out against the war. Call me paranoid, but the FBI is now known to have been tweaking with the Free Speech Movement at Cal, so my earliest paranoid fantasies have been confirmed. (Also, the feds were testing germ warfare off the coast of San Fran; I think the bug was Serretia (sp?). Yeah, I am one paranoid sicko. Who killed Davy Moore? How come he died and what's the reason for? Who killed Norma Jean? Keith Moon killed Who. |
