Your point is well made. In brief, my response --
I would argue that cultural/social restraint upon murder of innocent civilians is perceived as having been removed by militant Islam. Right or wrong, that is the perception of "fact." OK, value judgment and blame remain an issue for a vocal minority.
Nevertheless, etiology is no longer the point. Wright or wrong, it no longer matters who was to blame for attacks on America -- ben Laden, al Quaida, the Saudis, or Satan himself.
The preponderance of perceived evidence suggests militant Islam intends to destroy the US as well as Israel. In the absence of behavioral evidence to the contrary, such as Muslim cleric’s making a real effort to correct this alleged "misperception," no other conclusion can be logically justified. Moderate Islam as fumbled the ball. I would conclude -- American Skinheads identify with America. Frustrated hatred is easily re-directed -- in this case from Jews to Arabs. Right or wrong, that behavioral factor alone will probably determine skinhead behavior. Similar nationalistic-type responses might be anticipated across Western Europe and the former USSR, excepting Muslim nations.
The dynamics of social-cultural chaos and religious suicide are complex and well beyond further commentary from me.
