I thought we were talking about our view of Itanium, not the market's view of Intel as a whole. Two separate things.
Intel's being singled out because of the failure of Itanium?
Of course it is. It's their product.
Yeah, the bad market for high end systems has something to do with it. But given the somewhat lame excuses coming out of Intel, there's a decent amount of blame to laid at Intel's feet, too.
First, we were told that Itanium would be a revolution. No, wait a second, Itanium is just the initial product, McKinley is the one that will light the world on fire. Now, as finglofen eloquently stated, it really is Madison that "appears to be the chip slated for some real volume".
Unless, of course, it isn't. |
