That statue demolition was a travesty, whether from an artistic or religious viewpoint. And it brings up a curious side-point/question. "Islamo-fascists" and "Christiano-fascists" certainly have a long documented history of destroying their neighbor's village in order to save it. Have there been any "Buddhao-fascists" engaged in a similar crusade? I can recall a few fervent believers setting themselves on fire for a cause, but ah... that's not really the same kinda thing. "The Islamo-fascists wrecked the giant Buddha statues at Bamiyan, Afghanistan. Left un-checked, nobody in the world is safe from them. They would happily erase all traces of non-Islamic culture from the planet."
