Russia won't sell gold reserves, only new output
MOSCOW, July 23 (Reuter) - Russia intends to sell only gold which it mines, and not gold from its reserves, Interfax news agency quoted central bank chairman Sergei Dubinin as saying on Wednesday.
It said Dubinin had made the remarks during a meeting with President Boris Yeltsin at the Volzhsky Utyos resort in central Russia, where Yeltsin is on holiday. Dubinin, repeating comments made earlier this year by other bank officials, was also quoted as saying Russia would increase its gold reserves.
