WavePhore Newscast Reports Significant Growth in Subscribers For Second Quarter
Customized Information Delivery Service Exceeds 100,000 Users
PHOENIX, July 23 /PRNewswire/ -_ WavePhore Newscast, a division of WavePhore Inc. (Nasdaq:WAVO), and a leading vendor of customized business news and information, today announced a 28% increase in subscribers to its Newscast information services since the acquisition of Paracel Online Systems. For the second quarter of 1997, subscriptions to the service, which provides personalized information filtering directly to corporate users, jumped by 52,332 new readers, up 103% from first quarter of 1997 and propelling the number of total subscribers past 100,000.
WavePhore attributes this increase in subscribers to the expanded WavePhore Newscast product offerings, as well as a significant broadening of the company's sales force. Subscriber growth is expected to continue as more corporate customers are recognizing the potential for personalized news and information to supply competitive research and improve workforce efficiency. Newscast Today 3.0, the most recent product from WavePhore Newscast, is the first product of its kind to aggregate high-quality content, deliver unmatched personalization to each end-user, and provide seamless, easy integration into corporate intranets.
