Hmmm.... some real estate in a resonable place - meaning rule of law, educated people, close to first world living standards - be nice if it had low cost of living.

Vancouver B.C., New Zeeland, maybe Singapore, maybe Chile, maybe Portugal, Maybe Urguay.

I don't think physical property ownership will go away, but currency can be wrecked, and corporate shares looted or taxed - or bad trades can be made.

Buy shares in U.S. and Candian exporters who have U.S. Dollar costs but Sell in Euros or something else. Besides resources, drug companies have a large fraction of overseas sales.

You might want to look at the oil nad natural gas royalty trusts, like SJT, HGT, ERF, and NCN.
