I'm sorry, it's not obvious at all to me. That's why I asked. Could you spell it out for me? The only impact that's obvious to me would be on Poet's internal disposition of the experience. An apology might also affect how some posters treat CH, or it might not. (And it might bring Neo back, a condition that arose subsequent to my asking the question.)

Do you think that the apology would bring an end to the endless discussion of this subject? That an apology would fix any of the interpersonal rifts that have occurred over it? That posters would stick to their new alliances or return to old alliances? Do you think that posters would be less hair-trigger sensitive and testy? Would the tone of the discussion change to chirpy chatter or earnest debate? Would we have more or fewer participants and posts?
