jmo about WS bs on effect of Repbs gaining control:Jeffords quit party in late May 2001. And that move was already anticipated much earlier.

So what had the market being doing till then before late May 2001 with Republican control of both the House and the Senate and with a Republican Administration?

It was basically flat more or less index-wise (NAZ, SPX) though many mo-mo stocks like BRCD QLGC etc had already come off their Jan 2,2001 opening values.

Nothing about either party, but it just goes to show another Wall Street-fashioned myth BS imo that is being fed around that the rally is in anticipation of this or like say a Fed cut.

This is akin to what was being said in Dec 2000 that the markets would rally if we got a Republican President. And then promptly (sooner than later) sold off once it was decided who would be President.

Furthermore, you had hope then about the effect of rate cuts, the 2nd half story, no ENE scandals, no distrust of corporate 'earnings' etc.

SO???
