You were very lucky to get out of that in one piece. A single telegraph pole could have changed everything. As has happened many times in the past.

Some of us are lucky. I remember leaving the road once, watching my vehicle travelling backwards at an excess of 80mph, with the backside (gas tank area) leaving a 100+ yard stream of sparks from scraping off a stone wall. They seemed to light up the whole sky. A Saturday night not to forget, It eventually spun round again facing forward in the opposite lane. Fortunately the road was empty. -ng-
