Falwell doesn't represent all Christians any more than Osama bin Laden represents all Muslims. That is quite a twisted analogy. Falwell is a religious figure, OBL is a military leader. A better comparison to OBL would be Rumsfeld. A better comparison to Falwell would a radical Wahabbi cleric in Yemen. and the Muslim faith in general has failed to condemn. Kind of like how the Christian faith has failed to condemn the Crusades?
