If it could be three it could also be 20.
There may well be twenty, but the other seventeen are peripheral. The three are key, IMO.
The reason I would put three in a class with the first two is because of X. X, IMO, was the X-factor, if you will, in the protracted nature of this incident. Chris did what he did and Poet dealt with it the way she did. Had X not entered the fray, I think CH would have been very lonely and we would have seen the last of it a long time ago. I think y'all recognize that, otherwise X wouldn't be getting as much "attention" as she has been getting.
So why did X enter the fray. The "revisionists" and those who have "not been paying attention" may not have noticed due to TEOMOP or some other form of blindness or may not remember. I remember because, before X made her move, she and I had lengthy discussions during which I tried to disabuse her. So I've had the benefit of watching the doings equipped with that insight. X got into this not to defend CH, although she indirectly and later directly gave him aid and comfort, but as a reaction against the strident vigilantism. Had Poet"s "defenders" taken a more measured tack, it's likely that X would have stayed out of it or brought a different position. Instead she jumped in with both feet, and with some excesses of her own. And here we are.
That's why I think three belongs with one and two. I also think that a shred of acknowledgement of their role in this by the parties to number three would improve the opportunities for closure. |
