OK- I pinged to TAL quote server using both RestNet and Netcom with
the following representative results (I dropped MCI last week as they
were not as good as Netcom). The average ping times were good on
these runs (need under 400ms), but the time outs indicate data loss -
NOT good. I can't get a clean run. Of course, with open routing,
these stats can and will change dramatically at any given time. Fwiw,
PCQuote is working on a closed routing intranet feed - probably not
available for a good while.

As you can see, often the timeouts are right at the quote server
backbone. I had Townsend ping me last week, and they ALSO got TOs and
RTOs. (The first TO from my PC to my POP doesn't matter). Are your
route traces much cleaner than this?
