-- Industry Standard SOT-227 Package Enhanced for 100+Amp capability
IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 4, 2002-- -- Offers Lower Thermal Impedance, Extremely Low Conduction Losses, Higher Power Capability
Ideal for Switched Mode Power Supplies, Converters & Inverters
Microsemi Corp. (Nasdaq:MSCC - News), a leading manufacturer of discrete semiconductors and power management integrated circuits, has announced a new line of surface mount Schottky Power Modules in an enhanced SOT-227 package designed to handle significantly greater power.
Designated the SPB(TM) Series, the new SOT-227 module package has been upgraded to offer circuit designers what Microsemi believes to be the best performance in its class. The first device available in the new package is the SPB10015(TM), a 100 amp, 15 volt dual Schottky diode. SPB Series modules are ideal for high frequency switchers and Or'ring diode applications requiring Schottkys with low conduction loss and high power handling capability.
"Microsemi's built a solid reputation for advanced packaging. Our new high-power version of the SOT-227 module has the best thermal ratings in the industry," said Sven Nelson, vice president and general manager of Microsemi's Broomfield, Colo. operation.
"We plan to add other device types, including ultrafast rectifiers and thyristors, to our new module package line soon," he said.
