BHP pulls out of Tabletop.
So, think they`ll be spending that exploration money elsewhere? If so, where?

TABLETOP DIAMOND PROJECT J-V STATUS

Caldera Resources Inc. (“Caldera” TSE CDR) has been advised by BHP Billiton Limited that it is withdrawing from the Tabletop Diamond Project joint venture.

BHP Billiton’s decision to withdraw was largely determined by geochemical analyses of drill chips obtained from the recently completed drill program. This drill program was completed for a total of 658 metres on five magnetic targets and one orientation hole.

Independently of BHP Billiton, Caldera commenced petrological work on samples taken from the drill program and has identified lapilli crystal lithic tuff from three targets. This fine-grained tuff material is indicative of potential crater lake sediments.

Caldera has also processed five 1.5 kg samples from these targets for indicator mineral recovery. Chrome spinels have been identified from the concentrates. These will be probed in order to determine whether they are of kimberlitic or lamproitic origin.

In conjunction with this information and the geochemical data, Caldera will process up to six 20 kg samples at a Perth laboratory for micro-diamond recovery.
