<io>You can't have a world where X or anyone else is free attack someone or a group and they are forever expected to hold their fire.

I haven't said a word about attacking X. Nada, zip, zero. I'm not sticking up for X. You're right, she would probably call it ludicrous. This is not about treatment of X.

I'm saying that one of X's hobby horses is bullying gangs. The subject has been discussed bunches of time and she's been very clear about her special interest in it. I think the thread had just had a discussion about an article on middle-school girl cliques and how nasty they were. I recall Maried comparing the thread to it in the early days of SMBR. Given X's interest in this behavior, it's not unexpected that she would be provoked by what could be interpreted as gang activity. There were a number of people who were discomfited by it. Some effort could have been made to reassure or mollify them. When you launch a campaign, it's a good idea to get as many people on your side as you can, or at least avoid their allegiance to the other side. You don't push them away. Duh!
