Ultimately, we all have to trust our own eyes.

In the city I live in (Canadian West coast, Government and tourism are big industries), there are loads of empty storefronts downtown, more than I ever remember. Loads of "for rent" signs on apartment buildings.

Housing is strong. Apparently, people can buy but not rent. I think that about sums it up.
