Voting the R isn't a sound option here in Texas for those who both know and care about the candidates in judicial races, since every so often (including this year) the Rs have a candidate or two who is just unqualified, running against a D whose only lack of "qualification" is that little D by her name. You must be in one of those states that doesn't pretend the people are both interested and competent enough to sort out the qualified judicial candidates. Judicial elections: what a farce!

Edit: this is often true only in the big cities.
