I have been looking around the Web, and have found nothing about the use of aerial bombardment to move people to strategic hamlets. Forcible removal was often employed, and that sometimes that got out of hand, but that was by troops on the ground. Also, there was some resentment for moving people from ancestral lands, or failing to provide adequate farmland in the hamlets. However, it was not an immediate cause of refugees......
