Was Ethics Class Fueled by Tainted Cash?

LONDON (Reuters) - The Daily Telegraph newspaper said on Wednesday Britain's
Cambridge University used a $2 million donation from a disgraced U.S. businessman to
help fund classes in boardroom ethics.

The newspaper said Dennis
Kozlowski, former head of U.S.
conglomerate Tyco International,
made the donation two years ago,
and his company separately donated
a further $2 million to Cambridge's
Judge Institute of Management
Studies.

Tyco sued Kozlowski in September,
accusing him of taking $600 million
from the company to buy real estate
as well as items such as a $6,000
shower curtain, a $15,000 dog
umbrella stand and a $17,000
sponge bag.

The Telegraph quoted the university
as saying it would keep Kozlowski's donation despite threats by Tyco shareholders to
recover funds from "any and all sources" to compensate for the alleged fraud.

"We are not under pressure to give the money back and we are not giving it back," the
newspaper quoted a spokesman for the university as saying.

Officials at Cambridge and Tyco were not immediately available for comment on the
report.
