I doubt we shall be so lucky again. I think there was more responsibility then and much more abhorrence of gov't deficits. We even had a trade SURPLUS!

Now they Dems want to spend us bankrupt on "social programs" and the Reps want to spend us bankrupt on corporate welfare and the military (which, since 9/11, is unfortunately no longer optional spending).
