the only question is the actual expectatons for revenue this qtr. Imo the flat revenue this time around was an upside surprise. Now they guide down 3% next qtr so how does that gel with analyst numbers against this higher qtr. Remember a few weeks ago no one was expecting flat revenue from last qtr, it was all a question of how much below last q would be required for a warning (which we didn't get).

good points.

I would note that Chambers stated they are issuing "conservative" guidance. To me that seems to hint at a flat quarter for January. A drop is what so many of those analysts had been suggesting lately.

The analysts day after day used to issue the negative comments or downgrades--that happened in October and I believe in September as well. This stock did not participate in the early phases of this Nasdaq rally.

To me the big story is their longer term outlook. I think they were able to sell that picture to investors. The competitive position is getting much stronger with each quarter it seems. The gross margins are telling us this story. That is why I am going to be a buyer of this stock on the dips. Looking to repurchase the partial sale I did today.
