OT/Perhaps. But he had too many things to fight for. Also,
I personally believe, that neither Dems nor Republicans
truly believe that the Economic Growth is the only way to
produce prosperity for all and the way to do that is to put
money into the hands of consumers to spend and thus build
growht/factories/jobs.
The old ideas of taxation/ redistribution die hard. 80% of
Catholics for example believe in that:take from the rich
( by forced taxation ) and give it to the poor. ie, cut a
pie in a million smaller pieces. Instead of trying to make
a bigger pie so every body can eventually have a bigger piece.
Forgetting that the centerpiece of Catholic social
teaching is voluntary charity.
