The bottom line is that the U.S. standard of living will be in an inexorable decline for the next 10-15 years at least. Savings WILL be rewarded, because capital destruction will continue at a frenzied pace in the capital markets, at just the time the "powers that be" have conspired to push bagholders back into the market(s). An ugly, ugly scenario, to be sure.

A good roadmap for this is Gerald Loeb's superb depression-era investment opus, The Battle For Investment Survival. That's precisely the mode we are in now.<NG>
