If they go to the extreme, they are more likely to lose in 2004 and later. I think that for Bush to have a chance in 2004, he needs to appeal to moderates, and suburban voters, including independents - which tend to be very libertarian on these type of issues. And - Bush was for using existing stem cell lines for research. The research will go on, as it is too important an area to ignore... Matt
