I just mentioned Vista as a small firm who took advantage of the availability of some properties that did not fit into Newmont's strategy. The properties seem to have decent gold and silver content, but I have not analyzed Vista Gold as a potential investment. They still have the Da Capo Bolivia properties and acquired a Mexican property in August 2002. Looks like they are getting their act back together - yes, needs a closer look.
