Actually, John is right about one thing. Chinese manufacturers will not pay QCOM royalties on exports for a long time.

Here is a little secret (Perhaps you've discussed on the board before). There is not one Chinese manufacturer who can develop and manufacturer a CDMA phone. That's right, I said it. not one. In fact, there is not one Chinese manufacturer who can devlop and manufacturer a GSM phone. Straight up. Oh, oh, (my turn to be sarcastic) they are developing TD-SCDMA.....lmao

SKD all the way and not changing anytime soon. And when they can manufacture and/or export (3-5 years); the minute the're late on royalty payments..........well, chipsets are in the mail Mr. delinquent bill payer....keep looking for em.

The only important discussion regarding China should be regarding growth, lower hs pricing to expedite growth. Friends believe me when I say that Chinese government and executive managment in handst companies take the QCOM royalty issue very serious. I have seen them base way too many decisions that factored in the payments of those royalties. These are not common street thugs and Maurice is correct. Business is business.
