Watch for a dramatic increase in the number of people on Social Security Disability. In my law practice, I represent injured workers in their workers compensation claims. When unemployment is high and medical costs are soaring, like now, these disabled people look for a hole to crawl into to weather the storm. When they are 55 (boomers) they get the benefits generally if they are limited to light work activity which is pretty easy to prove. When they are on disability twoyears, they qualify for Medicare. One of Clinton's best ideas was to allow persons 55 or over to buy into Medicare.
